The Nola Pet Memorial Second Line Krewe was born out of the heartache shared by a small group of friends who gathered at our local bar in early 2025 to reminisce over cocktails. As we drank, cried, and laughed together, we came up with the wonderful idea of organizing our first memorial for pets through a second line parade to honor our beloved companions. This heartfelt initiative quickly evolved into a fundraiser aimed at supporting less fortunate animals in our NOLA community. Our mission is to raise awareness for no-kill animal rescue missions and shelter animals while bringing together friends, family, and the community at various pet memorial events.
Great News – we have officially received our 501(c)(3) status! Our website now has a place to make a donation, purchase a ticket to march in our Second Line Parade, and purchase T-shirts. Make sure you purchase a ticket if you want to walk in the Second Line. Remember, all proceeds will be donated to B.E.A.R. & Trap-Dat-Cat. Our other big news is that our Grand Marshal this year will be legendary burlesque performer Bella Blue! For our band, we will have the amazing Red Hot Brass Band playing, and the Cajun Queen Pedi Cab will be rolling with us as well! Finally we will have Leslie Cooper at Cosimo's for the after party to do an animal blessing!
